WOW!!! and Xmas is now only FOUR days away! I finally got all my shopping done ... And I dunno why, but this year I've really been "in the spirit" and getting excited about Decemeber 25th, playing Xmas music practically every day and all that ... haha ... Also, my dear long distance friend, Karen Haggerty's birthday lands on that date ... so I hereby dedicate the above mix to her ... Happy birthday, Karen!

Chris Stewart's _William Gilbert_ Mix

This mixtape was created for you by Chris Vawter Stewart, a Psychic Tuesday veteran mixmaster ... and if you missed on his other excellent mixes, they are right HERE & HERE ... and WOW! I'll be damned if this brand new one he's made isn't one of the best playlists to ever hit this blog's airwaves! Here, here Chris!!! It's not only very musically consistent and thematic, but also brings together a perfect bunch of songs to really warm one up during these absolutely freezing icy cold days ...

Here's Chris himself to further explain =

"My mix is dedicated to William Gilbert, an English physician from the late 1500's, who is widely considered to be the father of electricity and is credited as originating the term itself. So my mix is full of electronic gems from the last 5 decades. They are mostly upbeat, danceable songs. It's driving beat makes it easy to work to, great for (only the coolest) parties, or just cruising around. If your head isn't bobbing to this one, then you may want to go to the hospital, or at least therapy, because you are either dead, or severely unhappy. Enjoy!

-Chris"

Hey ... Just dig that tracklist! =

1. Popcorn - Hot Butter

2. Fingerbib - Aphex Twin

3. Schubertalamode - Somethingalamode

4. Terminally Chill - Neon Indian

5. Behind The Mask - Yellow Magic Orchestra

6. Light of Love - Miracles Club

7. Lipton Service Boy - Eero Johannes

8. Dispicable Dogs - Small Black

9. Hot on the Heels of Love - Throbbing Gristle

10. Nothing To Fear - Depeche Mode

11. Trois Gymnopedies [First Movement] - Gary Numan

12. The Moog and Me - Dick Hyman

13. Monosynth - Joy Electric

14. Feel It All Around - Washed Out

15. Party Machine - Bruce Haack

Now put on yer toe-warmin dancin shoes ... cuz HERE IT IS!!!

And if that isn't enough, Chris also sent along a myriad collection of whacky, beautiful and bizarre videos ... Thanks, again Chris!!!

Onward =

****************************************************************************

In random news, I just wanted to spread the word that Chris' brother Andy and my good friend Colin Blanton and Anthony Mack have an awesome new split EP out (awkward silence / mackone / urbandy split) and you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE

Also, Justin's sweet wife, Lisa Cordes posted this great link that I highly enjoyed lookin at (thanks, Lisa!) =

In homestead news, Peter and I finally broke down and turned our gas heating on, cuz there's no doubt about it ... it's COOOOOOOLD these days!!!

Charley quite liked our decision =

We also decided to put up the tree and decorate and be festive and all that =

Speaking of festive, I was in Montgomery last weekend visiting the ever-wonderful RYAN and he drove us to this house that was totally and completely smothered & covered with yuletide spirit ... They even had a donation box to help cover their electric bill ... haha ...

bear witness =
