Laura Ledbetter presents Focal Point : Ela Orleans

For July's focal point mixtape, we are treated with a glimpse into the beautifully nocturnal and mysterious world of musician Ela Orleans, thanks to one of her biggest American fans, the ever-wonderful Laura Ledbetter!

Here's Laura herself to tell you all about Ela!

"I first heard Ela Orleans on one of those late night music hunts for something unique to charm my jaded ears. I was hooked from the first listen of her 2008 album, Lost. Ela was born in Oswiecim, Poland and began music school at the age of 8. The dreamy eclectic moodiness of her songs is enhanced by her warm Polish accented voice. The classic training of her life-long study of music is evident in many of the songs with the sounds of heavy string instruments drenching the layers of other sounds. Her collagist music style has elements of '60's chamber pop' and could easily accompany the dark atmosphere of a well made movie. I hope this Focal Point fully captures the enchanting, dreamy and very enjoyable music of Ela Orleans on its many beautiful levels.

In addition to the songs on this Focal Point collection, I've included many of Ela's own videos that she creates and produces for many of her own songs -- as well as for other bands on the Clan Destine Records label, which you can check out RIGHT HERE."

Thanks, Laura for sharing the unique sounds and visions of such a great and talented musician ...
And now, ladies and gentlemen ... ELA ORLEANS!
