Trick Or Treat!

Halloween will soon be upon us ... It is but a mere 6 days away!!! The dead leaves are falling ... the nights are getting chillier ... the ghosts and ghouls are all slowly coming out of their nooks and crannies! Hope you have your scary jack-o-lantern carved!

Want some phantasmagoric music to help you get set for All Hallow's Eve? Well, you're totally in for a treat (or is it a trick?! haha ...)

The ever-creative Beth Ragland has created an over-the-top awesome Halloween mixtape called "Bad Muffin Thriller Mix" and it is so very wickedly excellent! My favorite thing about it is that 85% of the music isn't stuff you've ever heard included on a Halloween mix before ... This playlist is chock-full of more unpredictable, atypical and (ahem) ... modern sounds ... Just listen for yourself, if you dare!

Thanks, Beth!!!

You can download Beth's mix HERE.

And that's not all! It's the end of the month again, so (as always) it's time for a new episode of "Thrift Store Vinyl Radio" ... As you may have guessed, this program will be filled with many scratchy, spooktacular stories and sound effects ... You might even recognize some scary records from your childhood ... who knows? ... I didn't speak on it because I was afraid of taking away from the thrilling and chilling mood these records create!

So turn out all the lights cuz here it is!
ENJOY!!! Muahahahaha!!!

Wanna download it? Well you can RIGHT HERE.

And now, some Halloween news!

If you live in Birmingham AL, there is gonna be a uniquely eerie art show THIS Thursday night called "Phantasm" ... It's being curated by my fellow artists, John Lytle Wilson and Wes Frazer ... A ton of my pals will have stuff in the show ... I'm doing a video installation for it!

Join us Thursday the 27th at dusk for PHANTASM, an art show presented in the dark. Bring a flashlight and a friend and discover dark themed artwork from some of Birmingham's favorite artists. Costumes are encouraged! Check out the even page HERE.

It'll be located at 213 24th Street North
Birmingham, Alabama

6pm - 10:30pm

COME JOIN THE SPOOKS!

Are the lights still out?!

Well if so, here's a nice ghost story by M.R. James!

If you dug that, you can listen to some splendidly vintage Halloween records and ghosts stories RIGHT HERE.

This past weekend, Ryan and I ventured down to Mobile to partake in Elise & Marc's "People of Walmart" themed Halloween party ... It was a truly wonderfully trashy experience!

Witness some photographic evidence =

Some rather haunted videos are on their way !!!

Here's one of my favorite scary movies of all time ... "Night Of The Living Dead" ... the whole movie!

This one's awesome, mostly cuz it was done SO WELL ... The Cast of Eerie Publications perform the Johnson-Smith Novelty Company "Horror Record" =

The traditional"Halloween" song by Kay Lande and Wade Denning, animated on an iPhone! =

This song (and video) by The Residents still disturbs me =

Elise sent this awesomelly creeeepy short film, "When I Found The Knife" ... cheers, E! Sorry I busted yer lip at the party! =

This isn't scary in a tradional sense, but it IS scary ... haha =

Ah, how seasonal! Siouxsie and the Banshees! =

The gothness continues with The Cure, circa 1982! =

And this one by Skinny Puppy is pure Halloween goodness =

This Bauhaus video really scared me the 1st time I saw it (seems silly now, but still!) =

Some pumpkiny desserts are upon us =

I feel sorry for the headstones in this one ... haha =

Haha ... Ryan recently sent me this video of a man who has a crippling fear of puppies ... ridiculous! Gracias! =

Speaking of puppies, Elise sent me this one of a dog who's afraid of Julia Roberts! bwahahaha! Danke, Elise! =
