The October People by Jamie Naugher

This mixtape will be great for:

A. pumpkin carving
B. making your costume
C. chillin on a cool night
D. Halloween decorating
E. treat making
F. Halloween parties

So says Jamie Naugher, who has created for you a spectacularly spooky mixtape entitled "The October People"!!! This mix makes me wanna go grooving through a graveyard!I dig how it's filled with both vintage and modern and, at times, very atypical Halloween tunes! Excellent!

And what does Jamie have to say about her creepy compilation?

"I've chosen a quote from Ray Bradbury to describe my Halloween mix.

'For these beings, fall is ever the normal season, the only weather, there be no choice beyond. Where do they come from? The dust. Where do they go? The grave. Does blood stir their veins? No: the night wind. What ticks in their head? The worm. What speaks from their mouth? The toad. What sees from their eye? The snake. What hears with their ear? The abyss between the stars. They sift the human storm for souls, eat flesh of reason, fill tombs with sinners. They frenzy forth....Such are the [october] people.' "

I couldn't have said it better myself!
Thanks a billion, Jamie!

And now, get ready for one hell of a Halloween hootenanny! Happy haunting!

 The track list is below:

You may download Jamie's monstrous mix RIGHT HERE!

Speaking of monstrous mixes, here's a nice vinyl one I did last Halloween!

Also ... Hey look! Below are some photos of the window display I did for Serge: Sewing Shop, located on 2030B 11th Ave. South in Birmingham, Alabama. The pieces hang and slowly twirl around, slowly revealing random mask and clothing combinations! It'll be up all month, so drive over and check it out!

And speaking of driving over, the second installment of the Eastlake Arts District's  Art in Empty Windows project is now up along the 7600 block of 1st Ave North. This installation features the works of Alabama artists myself, Pat Snow, Lindsay Mouysal, Emily Neel and Roger Jones.

Here's a bit of photographic evidence:

Check it out!
HERE is a rather wonderful article about the extremely inspirational artist & musician Billy Childish!

Also ... It’s that time of year!
The leaves are dead and falling, and since Halloween is the season of giving, Fred & Daily (my brother Peter and I!) have decided to TREAT (or could it be a TRICK?) everyone to a rather special digital download …it's our Halloween album, "Mask Cemetery"!

Just click the album cover below to get your FREE copy!

Speaking of Fred & Daily, some kind someone took it upon themselves to make a video to our song, "Choose Your Face"!

Elise sent this brilliantly animated short called "The Maker" ... Brilliant!
Thanks, E!

A bit of beauty, care of Sigur Ros

Wow! Here's a chorus of kids singing one of the new Tame Impala songs!

There's a whole lot of swimming going on in this new one from The XX

Crazy! Here's a video by The Cars, directed by Andy Warhol

Peter sent this darkly trippy video by Rildrim ... Cheers, brother!

And here's one for Peter ... a Black Sabbath concert from 1970!

>>>Time to laugh ... it's Dessert!!!<<<

Haha ... Hunx has a new TV show called "Hollywood Nailz"...
The trailer looks over-the-top ridiculous!

This is fantastic ... Brian Teasley posted this "Bad Lip Reading" of last week's presidential debate ... haha! Muchos gracias, Brian!

My German cousin, Rosa posted this next one ... I'm so glad he didn't decided to dive instead of attempt a cannonball! Vielen dank, Rosa!

And finally, Boris Karloff narrates what he describes as a "horror" movie "Today's Teens" ...  truly terrifying stuff! haha
